Not a New Year’s Resolution but a New Year’s Ritual.

For a fresh start try this.

We all can use a fresh start. Especially after this past year which for many proved to be emotionally exhausting, wearing a bit on our psyche as well as our nerves.

As the calendar page turns into a new day, this time it also marks a new month and a new year, ushering in the excitement of new hope with it. This is a perfect time to take stock. A moment to reflect on what is working in your life, and what you want to create in the coming year.

Remember, what you plant as a seed of inspiration or idea now has the fertile ground to grow but it may require a longer season than 365 solar cycles. But the first step is to plant your intention.

But before we get there we must let go of the past year.

Here is a ritual for beginning any new year or new cycle.

In this case, our ritual begins on New Year’s Day or within a few days of New Year’s.

I begin by writing down on a piece of paper all the things I wish to let go of from this past year. This may include habits, old ways, or limiting ways of thinking, resentments, conflicts, and fears. Anything I no longer need or feel it does not serve me has got to go.

Take some time with this.

For the next steps….
